Sony Corporation Purchases Fast Logic™ Portfolio License

Cupertino, Calif. – May 21, 2014 – Alliacense today announced that Sony Corporation has purchased a Fast Logic™ Portfolio license from The TPL Group.  The agreement resolves the patent infringement lawsuit filed by The TPL Group against Sony Corporation.

The TPL Group continues to demonstrate its commitment to invest in the protection of its licensees.  In September 2011 it filed a patent infringement lawsuit in the US District Court for the District of Delaware against 18 of the companies it believes to be infringing the Fast Logic Patent Portfolio.  Roughly half of those defendants have purchased licenses.

Sony Corporation joins more than 30 other global electronics leaders who have purchased Fast Logic licenses since the licensing program began in 2007, including Samsung, Broadcom, Philips and Freescale.
