ASUSTeK Purchases CORE Flash™ Portfolio License

CUPERTINO, Calif. – Jan. 5, 2009 – Alliacense today announced that ASUSTeK Computer Inc. has purchased a license to the CORE Flash™ Patent Portfolio from The TPL Group.  The agreement resolves the litigation between the two parties and makes ASUSTeK the seventh company to purchase a CORE Flash license in the past 15 months.

“We are excited to announce that ASUSTeK has joined the CORE Flash Licensing Program,” stated Bruce Sanderson, VP of Licensing for Alliacense. “The ASUSTeK agreement provides strong recognition of the value and competitive edge enabled by CORE Flash innovations.”

Alliacense developed the CORE Flash Portfolio Licensing Program to serve leading system manufacturers and marketers of consumer electronics, computer systems, and printers, as well as retail digital photofinishing service providers, according to Sanderson. He also stated that licensing opportunities are being discussed with dozens of major system manufacturers and marketers worldwide.

The CORE Flash Portfolio contains intellectual property that was developed and productized by The TPL Group’s OnSpec Division. The portfolio includes 21 U.S. and international patents and 18 patent applications.
