Technology
Conventional 3D graphics technology has reached a point of diminishing returns.
Increases in graphics resources such as memory and bandwidth now deliver
only slight improvements in graphics quality. Significant future improvements will require a fundamental change in approach.

- 3D ART™ takes a revolutionary approach to digital graphics. Relying on two core technologies,
Adaptive Real-Time Tessellation™ (ART) and Rapid Zippering™, 3D ART™ significantly
reduces the bandwidth consumed by digital graphics. This enables developers to efficiently create realistic
graphics with cinematic animation, on a variety of platforms.
- Adaptive Real Time Tessellation™ utilizes GPU hardware to perform tessellation in real-time, enabling developers to define highly detailed 3D environments with coarse mesh (control points) rather than massive triangle databases, reducing bandwidth and memory requirements by orders of magnitude while providing a significant improvement in the level of detail. As a result power consumption is also significantly reduced, a key benefit for resource conscious platforms such as mobile phones.
- Rapid Zippering™ provides powerful crack elimination technology. Cracks were previously an
insurmountable barrier to Adaptive Real-Time Tessellation™, and cracks have
prevented implementation of ART since the 1980s. Rapid Zippering™ technology removes cracks by ensuring that
adjacent surfaces line up perfectly, thereby eliminating a critical barrier to
ART.
