CUPERTINO, Calif. – May 14, 2008 – Alliacense today announced that MosChip has purchased a TruVNS™ Technology license from The TPL Group, including exclusive rights to secure bulk encryption implementations. MosChip is a fabless semiconductor company which provides integrated circuits and software for networking and connectivity solutions.
“The TruVNS SoC solution has achieved widespread adoption, and further commercialization through our relationship with MosChip will ensure TruVNS retains its leadership position“, said Nick Antonopoulos, Senior VP of Business Development for The TPL Group. “We are proud that TruVNS Technology will play a critical role in enabling the innovative products that MosChip brings to market.”
The TPL Group develops and commercializes proprietary product technology through its IntellaSys and Alliacense business units. IntellaSys developed TruVNS Technology to enable standards-based bulk encryption capabilities including DRM and protected content features for 1394-compliant connectivity and storage management solutions.
MosChip intends to secure its already strong position in the I/O connectivity market by entering the Audio Video connectivity segment, targeting consumer appliances. TruVNS products and technology will be combined with MosChip‘s products to provide a more complete offering to the Consumer Electronics, Professional A/V Equipment, Cable and Satellite Set-Top Box, and Media PC manufacturers.
“Based on feedback from customers in Japan, Europe and Asia, we see a huge potential market for TruVNS Technology worldwide,” said Dayakar Reddy, Managing Director of MosChip. “We are very excited that this acquisition enables new product lines for entry into consumer entertainment markets.”
